Junior Hohbach, age 85, of Sanborn, Iowa and formerly of Paullina, Iowa who passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa. His funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa with Rev. Donald Erickson ~ Officiating.
Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown.
Visitation with the Family Not Present will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa.
The service will be live streamed on the Eldridge/Vander Ploeg Funeral Homes Facebook page
Masks are required for the visitation and the church service
And social distancing guidelines will be followed.Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Paullina Ambulance or St. John Lutheran Church.Junior Richard Hohbach was born February 10, 1935 to Richard and Bertha (Schroeder) Hohbach in Caledonia Township O’Brien County, Iowa on the family farm. He was baptized on February 22, 1935 and later confirmed on April 10, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. He attended country school, St. John Lutheran School in Germantown and graduated from Paullina High School in 1953. He worked for a local farmer the following summer until the fall of 1953. Then he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Texas, New York and the last year in Greenland until his discharge in October of 1955.
He was united in marriage to Corrine Fiddelke in March of 1956 and moved to a farm northwest of Paullina where they farmed and raised their four children, Cheryl, Linda, Michael and Susan. In November of 1995, they moved to their retirement home on West Grand in Paullina. He remained there until entering the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn in July of 2019. He passed away at Prairie View on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 reaching the age of 85 years nine months and fifteen days.
Junior was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown and the Paullina Lions Club for many years. He enjoyed playing cards and his daily coffee with friends.
Junior is survived by his family, his wife, Corrine Hohbach of Sanborn, Iowa; children, Cheryl (Marlin) Sjaarda of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Linda (Tim) Pfeiffer of St Louis, Missouri; Michael (Michelle) Hohbach of Paullina, Iowa; Susan ( Kevin) Walker of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; Grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey) Sjaarda; Eric (Andrea) Sjaarda; Grant Sjaarda; Maggie (Reza) Farokhian; Max (Lia) Holter; Leshia Woodford; Shonna (John) Keogh; Nichole Fintel (Daniel Jacobs); Jacob Walker and Michael Walker; Great Grandchildren, Oliver and Greta Sjaarda, Alannah and Taylor Sjaarda, Ella and James Holter, Anna Van Reisen, Emercyn Woodford, Jack and Sidney Keogh and Kaylee and Brenna Jacobs; one brother, Donald and his wife, Karen Hohbach of Crete, Illinois; sister-in-law, Jackie Wersinger of Sheldon, Iowa and a brother-in-law, Glenn Cave of Cherokee, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Floyd Hohbach, three sisters, Lorraine and her husband, Ervan Jahn; Adalene and her husband, Merlynn Callenius and Delores Cave.
