Gary Dean Hilbert, son of John F.L. Hilbert and Amanda Glaser Hilbert, passed this earthly life in the morning of October 28, 1943, following an attack of influenza.
Gary was born in Hartley on November 21, 1936, and baptized by Rev. Budy on March 14, 1937. He was one of the first members of the Junior Modern Woodmen of America in this area.
Gary was a happy child, friendly to all who visited with him and his family. He was a joy to his parents.
Gary is survived by his parents; one brother, Rodney, one greandfather, Mr. Jack Hilbert; and one grandmother, Mrs. Emma Glaser.
Pallbearers were Dale Lux, Eldon Paulsen, Donald Severance and John Jochums.
Services were conducted on Satuday afternoon, October 30, 1943 at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church withe the Rev. Mr. B.H. Romanowski officiating. Interment was made an Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley, Iowa.
