George W. Smith, a Paullinian since 1902, who served O'Brien county as its representative in the state legislature from 1924 to 1930, died of a heart attack in a Fort Dodge business place Tuesday morning. He was 91 years of age in January. Death came to Mrs. Smith November 5, 1958. The had made their home the past two years at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge.
Mr. Smith had gone downtown in Fort Dodge to an office supply firm and while there asked if he could sit down and rest for a few minues as he felt he had walked a little too fast. He collapsed almost immediately and was dead upon arrival at a hospital.
Marvin Smith, Paullina, O'Brien County Representative in the Iowa Legislature now, is a son. Two other sons of the deceased are Clarence and Orlo of Estherville. One son, Jessie, died while serving in the S.A.T.C. during World War I.
Funeral Services Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Methodist church with burial in Prairie View Cemetery.
