Death of Herman Fintel
Another of O'Brien County's Pioneers Passed Away Sunday Morning

Herman Fintel passed away last Sunday morning about 5 a.m. Death came suddenly, following a stroke of paralysis which occurrred on the day previous. He had been ailing more or less for some time, but has generally been able to get around without difficulty.

Mr. Fintel was born in Germany April 9, 1852, being therefore past 62 years of age. He was sixteen years old when he came to this country, and at first made his home in eastern Iowa. He came to O'Brien county in 1996 and settled near Paullina, where he has made his home ever since. His wife is still living and he also leaves four sons and two daughters.

The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church Tudsday afternoon, in charge of Rev. R.P. Jones. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
