Martha Westphal Rohrs, the wife of Elmer Rohrs, was born near Paullina, November 19, 1916, to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Westphal. Her age at the time of her death was accordingly 25 years, 4 months and seven days.

She was married to Elmer Rohrs December 19, 1933, the Rev. H. Steger officiating. Two sons were born: William and Robert. Mrs. Rohrs united with the Lutheran church in Paullina Feb 24, 1935, receiving Baptism and Confirmation on the same day. The memory verse in her confirmation was Luke 10, 42: Mary hath chosen that good part and it shall not be taken away from her.

For some time past they sought relief from a serious trouble in various places, but found it not. She passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City Thursday afternoon, March 26th, and was buried from Zion Lutheran church Monday afternoon, March 30, 1942. Interment was made in Prairie View Cemetery.

The text of the funeral sermon was Hosea 6, 1: Come let us return unto the Lord, he hath torn, he shall heal, he hath smitten, he shall also bind us up.

As the two boys, William and Robert are pupils in the Lutheran school, their schoolmates sang an appropriate song in their mother's memory. Heaven is my Home. A mixed quartet also rendered a selection, Sun of My Soul, My Savior Dea.

Out of town relatives who were present for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Westphal of Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Louis Severson of Lakefield, Minnesota.
