Funeral services for Hilda Lange were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 1994, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa, with Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. The casket bearers were Martin Strampe, Harold Lange, Bob Strampe, Orlynn Strampe, Don Buthmann and Curtis Strampe. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

OBITUARY

Hilda Strampe Lange, the daughter of Fred Sr. and Mary Dobbertin Strampe, was born June 20, 1899, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. She received her education at St. John's Lutheran School in Germantown. She was baptized on July 16, 1899, and confirmed on March 31, 1912, and was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown and the Ladies Aid of the church.

She was united in marriage to Art Lange on February 1, 1920. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm two and a half miles west of Paullina, then in the Primghar area for 18 years, returning to Paullina in 1940, to the Lange's family farm, 2 miles east of Germantown. In September of 1958, they retired to Paullina.

Art preceded her in death on August 14, 1973 In January of 1990, she entered the Primghar Care Center, where she resided until her death. She passed away on Thursday, October 13. 1994, reaching the age of 95 years, 3 months and 22 days.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Verlie and Walter Hibbing of Maurice, Louisiana, and Myrne and Bill Ruchensky of Sioux City, Iowa; one son and daughter-inlaw, Louis and Marveen Lange of Paullina; eight grandchildren: Loreen Mathews, Janet Hibbing, Debbie Evelyn Clay of Hartley, Iowa, and Mrs. Irene Schunke of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; and a brother, R.H. (Andy) Strampe of Omaha, Nebraska; also many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and three sisters.
