Adolph Sven Henning, the son of Ernest Christopher and Amanda Christine Olson Henning, was born November 22, 1898 on a farm near Sutherland, Iowa. His family moved when he was a child to rural Hartley where he received his education in country schools.

Adolph married Florence Reimers on February 16, 1927 in Spencer, Iowa. Throughout their married life, they lived on the family farm near Hartley. They moved into Hartley after retirement. He was a member of the Happy Hearts Senior Citizens Club in Hartley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Mr. Henning passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa where he had been a resident since 1987, on Wednesday, June 8, 1994 at the age of 95.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence, in 1986; one sister, Cecelia Lenhart; two step brothers and one step sister.

He is survived by one sister, Ricka LeClair of Spencer; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
