Emma Johnson, daughter of John and Emma Johnson, was born in Fayette County, Iowa on March 15, 1896. As a young girl she moved with her parents to a farm northwest of Sanborn, Iowa where she attended rural school and grew to young womanhood.
She was united in marriage to Herman A. Storm of Sanborn, Iowa on May 31, 1916 at Sanborn, Iowa. Their entire married life was lived on the farm near Sanborn, Iowa. Her husband, Herman, preceded her in death on September 15, 1970 and she continued to live at her home with her son, Leonard, until the time of her death at the Baum-Harmon Hospital at Primghar, Iowa on December 1, 1978 at the age of 82 years, eight months and 16 days.
She is survived by five children: Mrs. Charles (Edna) Clark of Linn Grove, Iowa; Leonard of Sanborn, Iowa, Mrs. George (Wilma) Pekelder of Sheldon, Iowa; Mrs. Kenneth (Marlyse) Payne of Storm Lake, Iowa and Ronald of Adel, Iowa; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Delores, one granddaughter, Sharon Clark, four sisters, and four brothers.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sanborn, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Holsten officiating. Casket bearers were Earl Storm, Vernon Storm, Arnold Brunk, Donald Brunk, Raymond Webber and Glen Storm. The congregation sang two hymns, "Take My Life and Let It Be" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Mrs. Donald Hakeman was organist.
Interment was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn, Iowa with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
