Keith Junior Riedemann (1932-2001)

Keith Junior Riedemann, the son of Harold and Lois (Dutton) Riedemann, was born at Hartley, Iowa on April 29, 1932. He lived his youth in the Hartley and Sanborn areas and received his education while residing in those communities.

Keith served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 with the submarine division. He was united in marriage to Gloria Stinehart on September 10, 1955 at Montgomery, Iowa. Following their marriage, they resided in Hartley where Keith was employed as a barber and a police officer. Keith was a member of the Hartley American Legion. His interests included golfing, hunting, fishing, and his dog, Tasha.

He died at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota on June 14. 2001, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 15 days.

Keith is survived by his wife, Gloria of Hartley; his children: Dawn and Glen Recher of Harris, Iowa, Mark Riedemann and special friend, Kay Cmelik, and Robert and Sheila Riedemann, all of Hartley; three grandchildren: [redacted]; two stepbrothers: Fred and Hal Riedemann; one step-sister, Alberta Riedemann; his aunt, Opal Hakeman of Sanborn; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one step-sister and one stepbrother.

Funeral services in memory of Keith J. Riedemann were conducted on Monday, June 18, 2001, at the Hartley United Methodist Church in Hartley, Iowa. Rev. John Rosenberger officiated. Military Graveside Services were conducted by the Hartley American Legion. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Sanborn Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
