Glenn Christian Lauritsen, the son of Lars and Christena Hansen Lauritsen, was born September 27, 1910, in Dedham, Iowa. He attended school in Viola Center, Audubon County, Iowa. Glenn was baptized on August 28, 1911 in Audubon County, Iowa, and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
He was united in marriage to Esther Lillian Zitterich on December 5, 1949, in Worthington, Minnesota. They made their home in the Estherville area until being transferred to Paullina in the fall of 1962.
Glenn served his country in the U.S. Army from April 2, 1942, until October 14, 1945, being honorably discharged from Camp Stewart,Georgia. Upon his discharge from the service, he started working for Northern Natural Gas Company. He retired in October of 1975 after 28 years of service.
Glenn passed away at Baum Harmon Memorial Hospital in Primghar, Iowa, reaching the age of 77 years, four months and 15 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters: Kay Skinner of Camanche, Iowa, and Jo (Mrs. Paul) Hibbing of Granville, Iowa; four grandchildren: Kayleen Skinner Turner and husband, Chris of Muscatine; and Christian and Paul Douglas Hibbing of Granville; three brothers: George and Arthur, both of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Alfred of Estherville, Iowa; and one sister: Lenore (Mrs. Donald) Corwin of Estherville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther; and one sister, Lila (Mrs. Carl) Beck.
Services for Glenn C. Lauritsen were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 15, 1988, at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, Iowa. Rev. Leroy Riemer officiated. The final resting place is [West] Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.
