Wilhelm Peter Rahbusch, the son of Wilhelm and Anna Marxsen Rahbusch, was born at Jubek, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on May 31, 1902. He received his education in Germany and was married there. He was united in marriage to Catherine Hansen on July 16, 1926.

They came to the United States in 1928, to the Sutherland, Iowa area where they began farming. He was actively engaged in farming until 1967, and in 1970 they moved into town.

He passed away at the hospital in Hartley, Iowa on October 7, 1975 at the age of 73. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; one sister; a son, Bill; a son-in-law Henry Barrs; a infant daughter, Magdalena; two grandsons, Robert Rahbusch and Dennis Wede, and two granddaughters, Jane Rahbusch and Tamara Alberts.

Left to cherish his memory is wife; six daughters, Mrs. Paul (Christine) Mathern of Gaza, Mrs. Don (Marianne) Lenhart of Sutherland, Mrs. Marga Wede, Mrs. Myrl (Betty) Reinfeld and Mrs. LaVerne (Ella) Alberts, all of Cherokee Iowa, and Mrs. Ruth Barrs of Ontario, California; for sons, John, Thomas, Herman and Harold, all of Sutherland; one daughter-in-law, Betty Rahbusch of Sutherland; 35 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother,Henry of Jubek, Germany and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Assmussen and Miss Dora Rahbusch, both of Flensburg, Germany, as well as many other relatives and friend.
