Betty Jane Fiddelke, the daughter of John and Ella Tesch Mesner, Jr., was born October 17, 1928, in Cherokee County, Iowa. She attended St. John's School in Germantown, Iowa. On June 16, 1946. she was united in marriage to Leonard Fiddelke at St. John's Church in Germantown. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Germantown area for many years. After their retirement the couple remained on an acreage near Germantown.
She passed away on Friday, November 19, 1999, at Orange City Hospital reaching the age of 71 years, 1 month and 2 days.
She was baptized on November 11, 1928, and later confirmed on April 18, 1943, and was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Germantown. She enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, gardening and crocheting.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her husband Leonard of Granville, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Jeanette and John Lenz of Chicago, Illinois, and Jean and Glenn Norris of Cherokee, Iowa; two sons and their wives: Les and Sheryl Fiddelke of Paullina, and Loren and Helen Fiddelke of Holstein, Iowa; also nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother and his wife, Ronald and Mary Mesner of Slayton, Minnesota; also a host of other relatives and friends.
Her parents and one brother, Harlan, preceded her in death.
