Funeral services for Dudley Dean Hattermann, 65, were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016 the Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel in Douglas, Wyoming with Reverend Jakob Berger of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Internment was in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
Dudley Hattermann died Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Dudley was born Friday, August 31, 1951 in LeMars, Iowa the son of Emil Willis and Ruby Johanna (Huber) Hattermann. He was raised and received his elementary education in Germantown, Iowa and received his high school education at Paullina High School in Paullina, Iowa graduating in 1969. He was baptized and received his catechism instruction at the Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Germantown.
He briefly worked construction in Iowa before moving to Saint Paul, Oregon where he worked as a welder in the railroad yards. In 1975 he moved to Douglas and purchased the College Inn Bar. which he operated until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his friends, and always kept in touch with his friends in Iowa, Oregon, and acquaintances from wherever they may be from.
Dudley was a member of the National Rifle Association of America (NRA), Converse County Liquor Association, Wyoming State Liquor Association, the Wild Bunch, and the Pony Express.
Dudley is survived by his brothers, Steven Hattermann of Evansville, Wyoming and Jeffrey (Missy) Hattermann of Primghar, Iowa; nieces, Mai Mestes of Grand Junction, Colorado and Ruth Ann Triplett and family of Pella, Iowa, nephews, Mike Hattermann of Casper Wyoming and Raymond Berning and family of Rock Valley. Iowa, great nephews, Jace Hattermann of Grand Junction and Jared Hattermann of Casper; great niece, Jessica Hattermann of Casper, and special friend, Roxie Meredith of Douglas.
Dudley was preceded in death by his parents. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kathy Fletcher, Sheryl Greco, Bill Fewless, Bobby Wimmer, Bruce Simm, Chad Simm. Max Alley, Dallas Peck, and Don Day.
