Russell Mealman was born July 3, 1853 in Mercer Co. Ill. and died in Perkins Co. S. Dak. March 30, 1913.

He was married to Maggie B . Parks January 31, 1877. She died Nov, 23, 1904 and was laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery.

To them were born three sons, Albert E., Louis E., and Roy V., all of whom survive him.

He came to Marshal Co. Iowa in 1877 and in 1900 he moved to O'Brien Co. In the spring of 1907 they went to Clark Co. S. Dakota, and from there to Perkins Co., S. D., where he died.

He was a member of the brotherhood of American Yeomen having joined that body in 1902.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of his brother in Hartley, Rev. G. K . Gilbert officiating.
