Gustav Leth was the son of Joachim and Wilhelmina Leth. He was born near Durant, Ia., on April 17th, 1883, and passed away on Saturday, August 24th, 1940 at the age of 57 years, 4 months, and 7 days. His early life was spent at the place of his birth. His occupation, farming.

Gustave Leth was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joachim and Wilhelmina Leth, also one sister, Mrs. Pete Muhs, and one infant brother, Rudolph. He is survived by his two brothers, Emil and Albert, both of Hartley; 3 sisters, Mrs. Leo Steuck, Mrs. Dick Jurgens, both of Hartley, and Mrs. Herman Hopp, of Kingsley, Ia. He is also survived by many relatives and many friends.
