At the Church of Christ last Friday occurred the funeral of Walter Price, the 13-year-old son of Mrs. Henrietta Price, now of Los Angeles, formerly of Sutherland, and the service was attended by a very large number of friends and sympathizors.

Mrs. Price has been called upon within the past two years to part with her husband, her mother, her only sister, and her eldest child. Few sadder stories have ever been told than that written into the life of this brave daughter, wife, sister, mother; and the hearts of the people of Sutherland are most deeply stirred.

Walter Loren Price, was born in Toronto, South Dakota, August 21, l910, and died in Los Angeles, California, January 2, 1923, at the age of 13 years, 4 months and 12 days.

Walter's parents came to Sutherland In 1914 dud made this their home for six years, removing to California in 1920. He commenced school here In the fifth grade and was a very apt student . He made friends of all the boys and girls of his age, and a large number of bis former companions were in attendance upon the funeral services. Walter had never enjoyed robust health and his mind had a very serious bent that found expression in music. He gave promise of becoming a real artistic genius had his career not been brought to such an untimely end. At the age of 11 years he united with the Church of Christ in Sutherland of his own volition and with an apparent understanding of the significance of this step which was far beyond his years,

He leaves, besides his mother, his brother, Kenneth, 11 years of age; and his sister, Elinor, age 8. The floral offerings were very beautiful and the service conducted by Rev. Henry was impressive. Burial was In the Waterman cemetery.
