MRS. ELIESE SCHMOLL

Catherine Elizabeth Schmoll, daughter of John and Anna Arend was born January 3, 1871, at Koerle, Hessen, Germany, and passed away on April 28, 1956, at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 25 days. Having lost her parents in infancy, she was raised by her sister, Katherine. At a tender age she was consecrated to God in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, and later renewed her faith through confirmation.

In the year 1890 she came to America to join three of her brothers in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later she came to Iowa and on April 30, 1891, was united in marriage to Henry Schmoll. They pioneered on a farm in Harrison township, Osceola county, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.

Mrs. Schmoll was a member of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church and the Ladies Aid Society.

The deceased leaves to mourn her departure three daughters, Mrs. Adolf Gieser, Mrs. Gus Anderson and Miss Anna Schmoll; two sons-in-law and one daugh­ter-in-law, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Pleasant View cemetery. Rev. R. Maschmeier officiated at the services.

Who was tired of earthly strife,
And the Angels came and bore her
To that heavenly eternal life.

Her dear eyes are closed in sleep,
Her tired hands are still;
Her earthly life was nobly lived,
Her death our Father's will."
