Lucile Coffman Potter, the daughter of Arthur and Lily Rueppel
Coffman, was born May 7, 1917, in Larrabee, Iowa. She received her
education and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1934. Following
her graduation from high school, she attended the University of Northern
Iowa for two years and graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City,
in 1940 from the School of Nursing. Following her graduation from Nursing
School, she worked in the Pediatric Clinic at the University of Iowa for two years
and also at the Baptist Hospital in New Orleans.

On July 15, 1942, Lucile married Roger Potter in Corpus Christi, Texas
and in 1946 they moved to Hartley, where Roger practiced law. Lucile
was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was also past president
of the Tuesday Club and past president of Iowa CT Chapter of TTT
Society. In July 2000, she moved to Iowa City where she resided at Walden
Place.

Mrs. Potter passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa on
Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at the age of 83. She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Roger on November 20, 1990; one sister,
Lois Krebs in 1985; and one brother, Arthur Coffman in 1999.

Lucile is survived by her children: Carol Potter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
James and his wife, Jeri Potter of Clear Lake, Iowa, Susan Enzle and her
husband, Gene Savin of Iowa City, Iowa, and Richard Potter and his fiancee,
Rachel Rowlson of Cary, North Carolina; two grandchildren: Jason
and Andrea Potter; one great-grandchild, Tyler Potter; other relatives and
many friends.

Funeral services in memory of Lucile Potter were conducted at 10:30
a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2001, at the United Methodist Church in Hartley,
Iowa. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated. Casket bearers were Ivan "Gene" Brown,
Wally Tschopp, David Treimer, Scott Steinmetz, Jerry Johnson and Ed Harders.

Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner Funeral Home of Hartley
was in charge of the arrangements.
