C. C. COLLETT DIES SUDDENLY

The people of Hartley and vicinity were shocked Wednesday morning to learn of the death of Dr. C. C. Collett, who expired suddenly the preceding evening at about 10 o'clock.

Mr. Collett had been suffering for the past several months from an ailment that effected his heart, and had had two attacks previous to the one Tuesday night which came near being fatal. He has been making his home with "Uncle Frank" Kelley, and was at home when the attack came that caused his death. Owing to the short time in which death relieved him no doctors were able to be present to administer to his wants, although great effort wask made by the Kelley family to bring some one to his relief.

Dr. Collett has been a resident of Hartley, for the past twenty-seven years during which time he has practiced his profession of veterinery surgery continuously.

He was widower, his wife having died some twenty years ago. Two daughters and one son and two brothers and one sister are the immediate relatives who survive him. One of the daughters makes her home at the Abe Snook home near Hartley, the other, Mrs. John Voss, resides at Schaller, Iowa, The son is a resident of Sunset, Oklahoma. A brother lives at St. Joe, Mo.; another at Bowsman, Mont.; apd the sister at Ocheyedan, Iowa.

Deceased was 52 years old [sic]; a pleasant gentleman to meet and well liked by all his acquaintances. The above meager facts are gained from an acquaintance, and a detailed obituary notice is impossible to get at this time.

The funeral services will be conducted in the Odd Fellows' hall in Hartley tomorrow (Friday) morning at 9 o'clock, after which the remains will be laid to rest in the Doyle cemetery in Highland township, his former brethern of the lodge accompanying the remains to perform the last sad rites at the departed one's grave.
