Reva Ruth Steinbeck, nee Huston, the daughter of Phil and Edna Elliott Huston, was born near Hartley, Iowa, September 12, 1918. She was educated at Hartley, graduating from Hartley High School. She attended AIB in Des Moines, Iowa, and later worked for a short time as a legal secretary for the FBI in Washington, D. C.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Steinbeck at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on November 1, 1951. To this union were born four daughters.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley, the Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a lifetime resident of the Hartley area.

She passed away at Madison. Wisconsin after being ill only a short time on February 23, 1974 at the age of 55.

Preceding her in death were her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, daughters, Mrs. Lon (Maureen) Vogt of Hartley. Marilynn, Maria and Marsha, all at home; one grandson Jamie Vogt: one brother. Will Huston of Hartley; and three sisters, Mrs. Clare (Mary) Byers and Mrs. Pearl Lyman. both of Hartley and Mrs. Claude (Margery) Stratman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, as well as many other friends and relatives.

Memorial services for Mrs. Steinbeck were held at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley on Tuesday, February 26, 1974 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bernard Sayler officiating. The casket bearers were Francis Glackin. Bernard-Franker, Floyd Ramsey. Joel Randolph, Gail Franker and Lyle Larsen. Interment was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley, Iowa, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.
