May Webster, daughter of James and Emma Webster, was born in Hartley, Iowa on October 1, 1896. She lived her youth and attended school in Hartley, Iowa and Cedar Falls, Ia.

She was united in marriage to Weldon Leroy Gallup of Sanborn on April 20, 1921 at Hartley, Iowa. Their entire married life was lived in Sanborn. Her husband died November 10, 1955 and the continued to reside in Sanborn.

She passed away at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 18, 1971 at the age of 74 yean, 7 months and 17 days. She is survived by one son, James, of Milford, la.; two grandsons and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mn. Helen Douglass of Storm Lake. Her parents passed away many years ago.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the St. Andrews United Church of Sanborn.

Funeral services for Mn. Weldon Gallup were held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church Friday, May 21 at 10:00 o'clock. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Lanny Turtle. Mrs. William Dummett and Miss Dorothy Merriam sang, "The Beautiful City", accompanied by the organist, Mn. Abe Hurowitz from Hartley. Mrs. Orleen Waund, Mn. Claire Powen and Mrs. Forrest Wanen took care of the flowen. Casketbearers were Ralph Dasen, Marion Jaycox, Jack Comstock, Donald Faas, Dick Sanden all of Sanborn and Jim Colling of Hartley. Honorary Pallbearers were George McGranahan, Claire Powen, Forrest Watten, Dr. M. J. Shanahan, Warren Norton, Wilbur Merriam, Armond Weiss, Dr. J. S. Sanders and John Jehue. Burial was in the family lot in Roseland Cemetery.
