Hannah Marie Eichner

Last rites were held Monday afternoon at Foley Funeral Home in Hartley for Mrs. Hannah Eichner who passed away Saturday, March 9th at the home of Miss Anna Luethje where she had made her home for the past two years.

Hannah Marie Peters was born in Germany on October 1, 1853 and passed away in Hartley at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 8 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Germany at an early age. In 1871 she came to the United States, settling at Davenport, Iowa.

She was married to Clause Eichner in Davenport on November 14, 1874. In 1888 she came with her husband to O'Brien County, locating at Sutherland. In 1908 the family moved to Hartley.

Her husband passed away on March 31, 1930. She was also preceded by a daughter, Adella, and three sons, Leonard, Emil and William.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one son, Julius F and wife of Hartley; two daughters in law, Mrs. Elma Eichner of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Lillian Eichner of Spencer, Iowa; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren besides may other relatives and friends.

At her request, her mother's 116 year old Bible was buried with her.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Lyle Shinkle accompanied at the piano by Mrs. G.E. Scheider.

Pall bearers were Tony Krebs, Charley Ackerman, John and Charley Olhausen, Dan Hoeman and Harvey Patton.

Interment was made in Pleasant View Cemetery in the family lot.
