Fritz Glaser (1872-1913)

Fritz Glaser was born in Stockton, Muscatine county, Iowa, May 10th, 1872, and died at Toronto, S. D., April 17, 1913, thus being 40 years 11 months and 7 days old. In the year 1893 he came to O'Brien county, Iowa.

On May 31, 1898, he was married to Miss Emma Rinck in Hartley. They at once moved on a farm in Clay county. In March, 1912, they moved to Dakota. To them were born eight children, six of whom survive him.

Besides these he leaves to mourn his loss a father, mother, wife, four brothers and eight sisters.

He was a member of the Modern Brotherhood of America, having joined while he lived near Hartley.

For two and one-half months he has been in poor health. The body was brought here for burial on the early Sunday morning train. The funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the John Hinck home in the western part of town. The order of Modern Brotherhood of America had charge of the services. Rev. G. R. Gilbert preached the sermon.

The body was laid to rest by the side of his two children in Pleasant View cemetery.

Those coming from a distance to attend the funeral were: The father, Peter Glaser. of Stockton, Iowa; sisters. Mrs. Peter Bierman. of Durant. Ia.; Mrs. Gustave Thiessen of Durant, Iowa; Mrs. Theo. Makoleen, of Sunberry. Iowa.; Mrs. Wm. Hamann. of Sunberry. Iowa; Mrs. Herman Makoben, of Bennett, Iowa: Mrs. Hy. Wegner, of Luverne. Minn: brothers. Henry and Jens Glaser. of Durant, Iowa: Ferdinand Glaser, of Elkton. S. D, and Peter Glaser, of Luverne, Minn. Two sisters, Mrs. John Hollings of Oaks. N. D. and Mrs. Henry Miller of Saskatchewan, Can., were unable to be here.

The sorrowing wife, fatherless children and parents and brothers and sisters, have the profound sympathy of this entire community.
