EMMA GLASER

Emma, nee Rinck, Glaser was born April 8, 1879, at Durant, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timm Rinck. At the age of ten she moved with her parents to O'Brien county. Emma Glaser was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Evangelical Church.

On May 31, 1898, she was united in marriage to Fritz Glaser at Primghar, Iowa. To this union, eight children were born, two of whom died in infancy.

From the time of her marriage she lived in the Hartley vicinity on farms until moving into Hartley in 1934 to make her home with two brothers, Theodore and George Rinck.

Mrs. Glaser had been in failing health for the past three weeks, having suffered a heart attack on April 8. A week prior to her death she went to the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Hilbert. Here she passed from this earthly life on April 17, 1954, at about 6:00 p.m., at the age of 75 years and 9 days.

Mrs. Emma Glaser was a good neighbor and a loving mother — always concerned about others and willing to lend a hand wherever possible. She was a most contented and unselfish person, never complaining or worrying about herself.

Emma Rinck Glaser was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz Glaser on April 17, 1913; two infant sons; two grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters.

She leaves to mourn her passing: six children, Harry Glaser of Primghar, Clarence Glaser of Primghar, Adelia (Mrs. Roy Pippert), Leonard Glaser, Fred Glaser, Amanda (Mrs. John Hilbert) all of Hartley; eight grandchildren, one of whom is serving in the Army in New Jersey; two sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; two brothers, Chris Rinck and Theodore Rinck of Hartley; one sister, Mrs. Charley Reimers of Toronto, S. D.; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral and burial services were conducted for Mrs. Emma Glaser from the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church in Hartley, Iowa, Rev. B. H. Romanowski officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Harold Gonnerman at the organ, and a quartet consisting of W. R. Wagner, Wayne Muhs, Mrs. Ingwer Hansen, and Mrs. Everett Selken, singing "Softly and Tenderly" and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Edward Peters, Wilbur Summers, Edward Struve, Alfred Hollowell, Henry Baumeister and Alfred Schoelerman. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery.
