Funeral Services Held For Irving J. Johnston

Funeral services for Irving James Johnston were held Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church; Rev. E. Stanworth sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" as a solo, accompanied by Miss Gladys Barber at the piano. Rev. Stanworth also preached the sermon using a requested text. Acting as pall­bearers were associates of Mr. Johnston in the railroad employ: Fred Wagner, Chas. Barber, Walter Luke, Al Guse, Bob Whalen and Geo. Irving. Burial was made in Roseland cemetery

Relatives here for the funeral were a brother, Joe Johnston and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnston Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnston, Ross and Eunice Johnston, all of Cleghorn; a half sister, Mrs. John Lamont and husband and son, Roy, and a brother-in-law, Gust Larson, from Meridan; Charles Snyder, Conrad and Delbert Perkins, Mr. and, Mrs. Vern Perkins, Mr., and Mrs. Chas. Snyder of Parker, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Drefke and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ihle, Paullina; Mrs. Chet Tyner, Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Textor, Coon Rapids; L. C. Mc­Afee and Mrs. C. T. McAfee, Anita; John D. McAfee and Dave Snyder Atlantic; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Powers and son of Primghar; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Geister; and the children, Mr. and Mrs. I. K. Ewalt, Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Casey and daughters, D'Elda, Anita and Maida Lou, of Boone, Delbert Johnston of Cherokee and Elmer, who came from Lamont, la.

Out of town friends here were Chas. Ewalt of Des Moines, Mrs. Edward Phelps and sister, Mrs. Joe Scillito, Cherokee, Mrs. W. L. Anderson and Mrs. Frances Ahrens of Primghar.
