OBITUARY OF MRS. GEORGE W. SIMPSON

Merrill Record -- Death claimed Mrs. Geo. W Simpson at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City early Tuesday morning. Mrs. Geo. Simpson had been ailing for some time but was able to be about as usual until Sunday when she was taken worse. She was removed to the hospital Sunday afternoon where an operation for intestinal trouble was performed that evening. For a time she rallied but Monday night she took a turn for the worse and passed away early Tuesday morning.

Nettie Elletha Winn was born at Vinton, Iowa, January 21, 1877 and was 60 years, 2 months and 29 days of age at the time of her death. On December 25, 1901 she was married to George W. Simpson at Paullina, Iowa. For a time they lived on a farm near Merrill and Crathorne. In the early days they moved on a homestead in Dakota and later made their home at Merrill, Iowa.

At the age of 15 years she affiliated with the Methodist church in which she was an active worker. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society and an active worker. For a number of years she was a member of the Women's Study club.

She is survived by her husband, George Simpson, and one daughter, Mrs. Bernold Groth of Mayville, N.D.; two sisters, Miss Maye Winn of Paullina and Mrs. Virginia Fountain of Chicago; one brother, Roy Winn of Chicago; and an aunt Mrs. Olive Whitney of Hastings, Nebr. Two daughters, Naoma, one week old and Margaret, aged 3 years, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 3.00 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. J.T. Albertson officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in the Paullina cemetery.
