MRS. MARTIN LARSON IS LAID TO REST
The sudden death of Mrs. Martin Larson, on last Sunday morning, after a three day sickness with pneumonia cast a shadow of sorrow over the entire community nnd especially in the homes of the children and relatives of the deceased.
Mr and Mrs. Larson were about to take their departure from this community to again return to their old home near Colton, S. D.. and up until last Wednesday, Mrs. Larson appeared to be in her usual good health, thus, death came as a shock, and stilled the lips of a kind, loving wife and mother.
Rachel Enderson Larson, the daughter of Andrew and Bertha Enderson, was born the 5th day of August. 1854, at Fjelde. near Stavunger, Norway, and died at Paullina, Iowa. February 26th, 1928, at the age of 73 years, six months and 21 days.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her home parish. In the year 1882, like many others in those early days, she emmigrated from the land of her father and mine to the United States of America. That year Dunbar, Marshall county, Iowa was her firs! home in this country where she resided until 1885 when she moved to Paullina, O'Brien County, Iowa.
On July 3lst. 1888 she was united in marriage to Martin Larson. Mr and Mrs. Larson moved to a farm near Brewster. Minn. in 1903, where they remained for six years and came back to Paullina in 1909. In the spring of 1916 they again moved, this time to their own farm near Colton, Minnehaha county, SD, where they stayed for three years and then returned to Paullina in 1919 where they have since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Larson were just preparing to move back to Colton, S.D. over which she rejoiced that she would have one more opportunity to be back at their beautiful farm home. But Mrs. Larson was destined to make an entirely different journey— the final one, and without doubt, a change that is rather difficult for the members of her family nnd relatives to become reconciled too. [sic] The words of Isaih are certainly true. "My thoughts, are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways, my ways, salth the Lord."
