JACOB GONNERMAN
Jacob Gonerman, oldest son of Elizabeth and John Gonnerman, was born Nov. 27, 1877, at Ashton, Ill. When three years of age his family moved to Dysart and lived there until he moved to Hartley 19 years ago.
He came to Osceola county 13 years ago. For the last 10 years he lived in Sibley.
He was married to Sophia Nelson March 8, 1900. Six sons were born to this union. His first wife died June 23, 1913.
May 28, 1915 he married Emma Trosowsky. To this union 10 children were born.
While in Sibley he was employed at the Fox & Morrison Dray Line, the Farmers' Elevator and for the last three years at the Willey and Greig elevator.
He became ill last spring. He returned to work, but five weeks ago he was again stricken. He had been bedfast for the last three weeks. He died Saturday noon, October 3, at a Sibley hospital. He was baptized in. infancy in the Evangelical church.
Those surviving are his wife, his mother, nine sons, Freeman, Earl, Calvin and Charles of Hartley; Roy and Wesley of Luverne, Minn., Louis, Robert and Roger of Sibley. Two daughters, Lucie and Mary Lou of Sibley. A stepson, Clarence Trosowsky, of Missouri Valley. Three brothers, Henry, William and John of Hartley. Two sisters, Mrs. Frank Shatzer and Mrs. Fred Rost of Hartley.
Funeral services were held at Sibley last Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church at Sibley with Rev. Paul P. Jackson officiating. Interment was made at Dysart on Wednesday.
