LAST RITES HELD FOR MOLLY ROST

Funeral services were held for Molly Rost at the United Methodist Church at Hartley on Saturday afternoon, April 16. Rev. Lester Hancock officiated. The casket bearers were Gary Rost, John Rost, Larry Rost, Douglas Holtz, Randy Rost, Arlen Rost, Edward Rost and Darwin Rost. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cem­etery at Hartley under the direction of the Baumgarten Funeral Home.

Magdalena Ann Rost, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Beck Gonnerman, was born January 10, 1895 at Dysart, Iowa. She attended grade school at Dysart and then moved to O'Brien County in 1914. She was united in marriage at Hartley, Iowa on May 24, 1916 to Frederick Wilson Rost. They farmed on their home place near Hartley until moving into town in 1973.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hartley and the WSCS. She was also a member of the Rebekahs for over 50 years and also past Noble Grand.

She passed away at the Mann Nursing Wing of the Hartley Hospital on April 13, 1977 at the age of 82.

Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, Jake, Hank, Bill and John Gonnerman; one sister, Ann Shatzer; her husband in 1976 and one grandson, Gayle Holtz in 1972.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons and their wives, Ronald and Berdeva of Harris, Morris and Grace of Dassel, Minnesota, Darold and Arlys of Hartley; one daughter and her husband, Velma and Melvin Holtz of Spencer; twelve grandchildren; three great­grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
