JACOB HOLCK

The remains of Mr. Jake Holck, of Spirit Lake, were brought here Wednesday for burial in Roseland Cemetery. Mr. Hoick was a brother-in-law of William and George Henrichsen of this place.

Jacob Hans Hoick was born April 8, 1872 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and passed away at his home in Spirit Lake, Iowa on January 5, 1942 at the age of 69 years. He came to this country with his parents in the year 1881 and settled near Cherokee, Iowa; in 1887 he and his family moved to Chicago, Ill.

In 1900 he was united in marriage to Marie Henrichsen, of Sanborn, Iowa, at Chicago. To this union was born one daughter, Gertrude. For a number of years they have resided at Spirit Lake.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Marie, his daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Hastings two grandchildren, Phyllis and Charlotte Hastings, of Spirit Lake, one brother, John Holck, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Magdelin and Mrs. Gertrude Willig, all of Chicago and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in their home at Spirit Lake with burial at Sanborn. The I. O. O. F. lodge of Spirit Lake of which he was a member had charge of the last rites.
