SERVICES HELD FOR VAUN GONNERMAN

Services were held for Vaun Gonnerman at the Trinity United Church of Christ Monday afternoon, April 9, with Rev. Bernard Sayler officiating. The casket bearers were Mort Rosenboom, Howard Borchard, Don Hansen, Eldon Menke, Keith Riedemann and Duane Kolpin. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with the Baumgar­ten Funeral Home in charge.

Vaun Henry Gonnerman, the son of William and Anna Nelson Gonnerman, was born January 14, 1914 at Hartley, Iowa. He graduated from Hartley High School in 1932.

He was united in marriage to May Peters at Lewis, Iowa on November 21, 1944. They resided on a farm northwest of Hartley until 1974 when they retired and moved into town.
Vaun was always interested in education and served 22 years on the school boards of Lincoln Township, Hartley Community and O'Brien County. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Hartley.

He passed away suddenly at the hospital in Hartley on April 7, 1979 at the age of 65.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two infant brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his wife; one son and his wife, Kenneth and Linda Gonnerman of Spencer; two daughters and their husbands, Katherine and Dennis Wacker of Hartley and Jean and James Camerer of Storm Lake; six granddaughters, Krystine, Jodi and Debra Gonnerman, Michelle and Summer Camerer and Lisa Wacker; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Wackerbarth of Phoenix, Ariz, and Mrs. Wm. (Doris) Nagel of Hartley; three brothers, Gerald and Moris, both of Hartley and Donald of Okoboji, as well as many other relatives and friends.
