MR. RAYMOND WUNDER
Funeral services were held January 24th in Trinity United Church of Christ. Pastor R. G. Beck officiated.
Mr. Raymond Wunder was born March 29, 1900 in Cedar County near Bennet, Iowa, the child of Mr. Fred Wunder and Mata Jipp. When he was two years of age his parental family moved to the homestead 3 miles east and 1/2 north of Sanborn. After completing the rural school he attended the Hartley High School from which he graduated in 1919. He then worked for six years in the 1st National Bank. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical and Reformed faith and was a member of Trinity Church since 1925. For a time he enjoyed membership in the Brotherhood.
On August 18, 1925, he was married to Ada Lillian Anderson in Thompson, Iowa.
Mr. Wunder was civic minded sharing the responsibilities of the Township School Board, Farmers Telephone Co. board and he served as clerk of the election board for many years.
After farming for thirty-three years he recently turned over his acreage for rental. His health began to fail a year and a half ago, and he was hospitalized for the past seven months being called to God on January 20, 1960.
Throughout his long illness he expressed his continued appreciation for the excellent care he received from his doctor and nurses. His wife was a constant companion remaining at his side all these months, easing his burdens with her constant ministrations, and encouragements. His many friends will long remember Raymond Wunder as a quiet and efficient man whose companionship and friendship they prized highly.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Raymond Wunder; sons, Owen Wunder of Lake Park, Iowa and Arno Wunder of St. Louis, Missouri.
