CHARLES HEIN PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY

Charles Hein passed away very suddenly at his home last Saturday at noon. He had been down town during the forenoon and on his way home felt ill and weak but finally reached home. Mrs. Hein assisted him into the house and got him to bed but he passed away almost immediately. The doctor pronounced it apoplexy.

Charles Hein, son of Carl and Doris Hein, was born in Germany, July 16, 1861, and passed away from this life at his home in Hartley, Saturday noon, October 24, 1931, at the age of 70 years, three months and eight days.

While an infant he came to America with his parents. On the way across the Atlantic he celebrated his first birthday. With his parents he arrived in New York and came directly to Davenport, Iowa, where they made their home in Scott county.

He was married to Minnie Mohr July 23, 1892. They made their home in Scott county until 1902 when they came to O'Brien county and settled on a farm southeast of Hartley. Mr. and Mrs. Hein retired from the farm in 1919 and came to Hartley to make their home and have continued to make their residence here.

There remain to mourn his loss, his beloved wife, two sons, Hugo and Rudolph, both of Hartley, Iowa; two brothers, Fred and John, also of Hartley; two daughters-in-law; four grandchildren, Gladys and Leola, Clarence and Orlin, beside a host of friends who mourn his loss and were shocked at the news of his sudden death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. Lombard in charge and interment was in Pleasant View cemetery.
