Mary Catherine Boatman

Mary Catherine Boatman was born in Rainsboro, Ohio, June 16, 1849 During the early 60s she came to Iowa with her parents, settling near Villlsca, Montgomery county

On November 19, 1866, she was united in marriage to James Moore and to this union five children were born, two of whom are still living, Mrs. M S Steece, of Mason City, and Mrs. Mae Cheseboo, of Minneapolis. Her husband, preceded her in death December 11, 1877.

She was married to Henry Hopfe October 19, 1879 and to this union six children were born, five of which are still living, Dora E Moeller, of Minneapolis; Annie J Barkhuff, of Austin, Minn ; Gail M Barkhuff, of Chicago; Darlee B Myrell, of Mason City, and Joel G Hopfe, of Melvin Lloyd passed away in infancy at Villisca. Ia.

Mary Catherine Hopfe passed away May 15, 1928, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held at the Hartley chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 P m by the Rev Wm. Figge, of Melvin. Interment was in Pleasant | View cemetery.
