Services in memory of Ella Hennings were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 1994, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated.

Casket bearers were David Hennings, Darrel Hennings, Merlyn Hennings, Willie Hebbel, Garland Hohbach and Merwin Hennings. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ella Margaret Louise Hennings, the daughter of Louis and Alvena Stoterau Bruegmann, was born on June 8, 1908, in Hartley, Iowa and it was there she attended country schools.

Ella married Harry Hennings on February 1, 1931 in Hartley and following their marriage, they farmed near Hartley until moving into town in 1963. While living in Hartley, she had been a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and the Dorcas Society. Ella enjoyed her flowers and the many visits from children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

On April 21, 1994, Mrs. Hennings passed away at her son's home in Hartley at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in June of 1975.

Ella is survived by one son and his wife, Ronald and Janet Hennings of Hartley; two daughters and their husbands: Marlene and Franklin Stovgaard of Ringsted, Iowa, and Ardyce and Darrel Brawner of Estherville, Iowa; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchilden; one brother, Gilbert Bruegmann of Hartley; as well as other relatives and friends.
