Funeral services in memory of Harry Hennings were held on Monday, June 9, 1975 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated.
The casket bearers were Henry Harms, Orville Lefever, Paul Heilman, Edw. Olhausen, R.W. Fahlenkamp and Stan Warburton.
Burial was made at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.
Harry William Hennings, the son of Adolph and Ricka Schade Hennings, was born February 12, 1906 near Hartley, Iowa. He was educated in school near his home at Moneta, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Ella Bruegmann on February 1, 1931 in Hartley, Iowa.
He was a lifetime resident of O'Brien County where he was engaged in farming for 32 years retiring in 1963.
He passed away June 5, 1975 at his home suddenly, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 23 days.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister Lillie Hebbel and one brother, Elmer.
Survivors include his wife, Ella, two daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Marlene) Skovgaard of Ringsted, and Mrs. Darrel (Ardyce) Brawner of Estherville; one son, Ronald Hennings and his wife Janet of Hartley; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Amis of Spencer and Mrs. Carrie Baumgarn of Harrris; four brothers, Rudy, Emil, Benny, all of Hartley and Ted of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; many other relatives and friends.
