Raymond Hibbing

Raymond Hibbing died on November 8, 2001. In June 1999 he had entered an assisted living complex in Pasadena, California.

He was born on November 23, 1918, the son of Herman and Anna Oldewurtel Hibbing in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1935 and from Coe College in Cedar Rapids in 1939.

On May 9, 1941 he was married to Frances Crozier of Ottumwa, Iowa. In 1942 he entered the Air Force as a 2nd Lt. and was stationed at March Field, Hawaii, and Guam.

He and his wife made their home in Riverside, California where he was employed by the State of California as a finance officer in the state employment office. He is survived by one daughter, Suzanne and her husband Ted Bruins, and one granddaughter, Christine Bruins, all of Altadena, California; a brother, Walter of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Mardelle Mueller of Paullina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Vernon, of Paullina.
