OBITUARY

1901—HANS BEHRENS—1962

Hans Fredrich Behrens, son of Hans Behrens and Kathryn Sieh Behrens was born in Germany, February 19, 1901. He attended school in Germany and was con­firmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1922 he came to America and settled in O'Brien County and farmed. He retired in 1950 due to ill health.

On October 5, 1930 he was united in marriage to Amanda Plath. To their union were born six children. One son preceded him in death.

Hans passed away, May 17 1962, at the age of 61 years, 2 months and 28 days. Cause of death was due to a stroke.

Survivors are his wife, 3 daugh­ters, Kathryn (Mrs. Burdette Ebel) of Primghar; Helen (Mrs. Henry Benson) of Marshall Minn.; Luella at home, and 2 sons, Gary, stationed in France, Richard at home, 6 grandchildren and 3 brothers, Jerry of Sleepy Eye, Minn., Herman of Chicago, Henry of Paullina and a brother and sister in Germany; and many nieces nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held Mon day, May 21, 1962 at the Grace Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Pas­tor Robert W. Lea, officiated. Pallbearers were: Carl Silberstein, Hans Silberstein, John Hinz, Emil Peterson, Harold Gottsch, and William Hinz. Mrs. Jean Petersen, Mrs. Arlyce Ransom and Mrs. Dorothy Hoeven were in charge of the flowers. Mrs. Donald Larson sang "Nearer My God to Thee", and "Softly and, Tenderly". Charlene Doehla was the organist. Interment was held at Prairie View cemetery in Paullina, Seivert Service in charge.
