Funeral services held for Robert A. Weaver
Robert Arthur Weaver, the son of Claude and Linda (Farquhar) Weaver, was born November 12, 1920, near Sutherland, Iowa. He attended country elementary school, Sutherland High School and graduated from Calumet Consolidated School in 1938.
He was united in marriage to Velma Smith [sic] on March 15, 1960, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina. He had been a farmer all his life, also an avid breeder of shorthorn cattle, at one time being a director of the Shorthorn Association. He retired from farming in 1986.
He passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, reaching the age of 82 years, 4 months and 20 days.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Velma of Larrabee, Iowa, a daughter, Roanne Jean and her husband, Tom Willey of Spencer, Iowa; one granddaughter and her husband, Dawn and Landon White of the Washington, D.C. area; two greatgrandchildren: Chelsea and L.T. White; three brothers and their wives: Burdette and Mavis Weaver of Paullina, Douglas and Susanne Weaver of Calumet and Clyde and Wilma Weaver of Lake Park; three sisters: LaVonne Anderson of Sutherland, Maxme Ewoldt of Paullina and Marguerite Borland of Santa Monica, CA; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded m death by his parents; one brother, James; and one sister, Beverly Tuttle.
Funeral services for Robert A. Weaver were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Paullina, Iowa, with Rev. Donald Freeman officiating. The casket bearers were Paul Tuttle, Blake Jurgensen, Jay Ewoldt, LeDen Pingel, Burleigh Jurgensen and Ryan Weaver. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.
