RAYMOND BRANDT

Raymond Brandt, 73, Hartley Iowa, died unexpectedly May 24 at his home. The funeral was at 2 p.m. May 26 at the United Methodist Church at Hartley. Rev. Keith Scott officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley.

Mr. Brandt was born Feb. 16, 1908 [sic] at Remsen. He married Edith Stoman [sic] of Paullina May 26, 1939, at Cherokee, and they resided at Hartley. Mr. Brandt formerly was employed as a fireman by the Illinois Central Railroad. After moving to Hartley, he was employed by several firms here. He retired in 1964, and then was employed as custodian by the United Church of Christ and later by the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include the widow; son, Loren of Peoria, Ill.; daughters, Mrs. Lester (Lorraine) Jungers of Spirit Lake and Mrs. James (Joy) Jones of Paris, Illinois; step - daughters, Mrs. Claude Anderson of Spirit Lake and Mrs. Wayne Reese of Peterson; brother, Adolph of Marcus; sister, Mrs. John Mangels of Sutherland; fourteen grandchildren; four step-grand­children and six step-great ­grandchildren.
