FLORENCE ANDRINGA 1896 — 1993

Florence (Elgersma) Andringa, the daughter of Jacob and Jessie (Duimstra) Elgersma, was born at Grand Rapids, Mich, on Sept. 27,1896. At an early age she moved with her family to Sioux County, Iowa where she lived her youth and received her education.

In January, 1916, she was united in marriage to Charles Andringa in Sioux County, Iowa. Following their marriage they farmed in the Sanborn area and Charles later operated the Andringa and Andringa Garage in Sanborn. They then moved to Orange City and later to Sheldon.

Charles died on March 2,1943.

Following his death, Florence resided in the communities of Orange City, Sanborn, and Sheldon. She moved to Boone, Iowa in 1976 and entered Ledges Manor at Boone in 1986.

Florence died at Ledges Manor on January 10, 1993 at the age of 96 years, three months and 13 days.

She is survived by her children: Mrs. Virgil (Jeanne) Dummett of Boone and J. Charles Andringa of Bonita Springs, Fla., eight grandchildren and 11 great­grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, one great-grandson, four brothers, and three sisters.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Boone.

She will be remembered by her family and friends for the handwork and crocheting she enjoyed doing.

Funeral services were held January 13 at the Sanborn Funeral Home in Sanborn with Dr. Richard Venema officiating. Casket bearers were Don Andringa, Kenneth Elgersma, Eugene Elgersma, Maynard Elgersma, Gene Horstman and Elmer Klaver. Jeane Van Veldhuizen and Harriet Van Veldhuizen sang "Beyond the Sun­set" and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." June Horstman was organist and accom­panist. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.
