MRS. HATTIE ELGERSMA

Hattie Elgersma, daughter of Jacob and Josie Kramer, was born In The Netherlands on April 25, 1894. She lived her youth and attended school In The Netherlands. In the spring of the year 1913, she came to America with her parents, to Sanborn. Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Harry W. Elgersma September 2, 1913. They farmed near Bigelow, Minn., Sanborn and Hartley, Iowa. After the death of her husband, she moved to Sanborn in 1962.

She passed away at Gables Hospital, Bellflower, Calif, on Friday, March 23 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 27 days.

She is survived by eleven children: Josie,(Mrs. Sam Vanden Berg), Sanborn; William Elgersma, Sanborn; Jennie (Mrs. Dick Vanden Berg), Artesia, Calif.; Jake H. Elgersma, Sanborn; Effie (Mrs. Richard Starkenburg), Sibley; Tena (Mrs. Maynard Elgersma} Sanborn; Sam Elgersma, Primghar; Margaret (Mrs. George Veltman), Artesia, Calif.; June (Mrs. John Van Dyke ), Sanborn; John Elgersma, Hartley and Raymond Elgersma, Sanborn; 47 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Wybenga, Artesia,Calif., Mrs. Jake Brouwer, Lakewood, Calif.; and two brothers: Fred Kramer of Racine, Wise, and George Kramer of Modesta, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry on Dec. 22, 1961 and one brother John and two children in infancy. She was a member of Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn.
