ARLEY ENDORF 1931 —1990

Arley Ray endorf, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Henning) Endorf, was born at Ocheyedan, Iowa on October 12, 1931. At an early age he moved with his family to Sanborn where he received his education and was a 1950 graduate of Sanborn High School.

On June 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Hopkins at the First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn and to this union three children were born. All of Arley and Jeanette's married life has been spent in Sanborn where Arley was employed as a brick layer.

He passed away at his home on July 1, 1990.

Arley is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Sanborn; his children: Sherryl Crandall of Sheldon, Alan Endorf of Readlyn, la., and Raymond Endorf of Sanborn; two grandchildren: Rae Lyn Crandall and Andy Endorf, his mother, Elizabeth Endorf of Sanborn, one brother, Verlyn of Humboldt, Ia. and one sister, Beverly Robinson of Dickens, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

He was a 35-year member of the American Legion and had served as local and county Commander of that organization. He had also served as secretary of the Commercial Bowling League for 30 years. He will be remembered by his family and friends as an avid fisherman of catfish and he enjoyed duck hunting.

Funeral services were held July 3 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn with Rev. Paul Soderquist officiating. Casket bearers were Kenneth Schirmer, Pat Strait, Bill Grogan, Daryle McGranahan, Robert Olson and Dean Raymond. Brad and Joy Smith sang "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross." The congregational hymn was "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." Military graveside services were conducted by Earl T. Conaway Post No. 318, American Legion, Sanborn. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
