Services held for Clifford Riedemann

Funeral services for Clifford Riedemann, age 79 years, 8 months and 18 days, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 1994, at St John's Lutheran Church in Germantown, Iowa, with Rev. Charles Kramer officiating. The honorary casket bearers were Donald Richter, Edward Beermann, Leroy Mueller, Louis Lange, Harold Dau and Hillard Mueller. The casket bearers were Paul Hartman, Grant Riedemann, Michael Riedemann, Bryan Riedemann, Brandon Lowder, Conrad Langland and Cory Brown. Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Germantown, Iowa, under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home of Paullina,

OBITUARY

Clifford Riedemann, the son of Henry and Clara Kluender Riedemann, was born February 14, 1915, in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Paullina, Iowa, and was baptized on March 7, 1915, at St. John's Lutheran Church in German-town. He received his education at St. John's Parochial School and was confirmed on March 24, 1929, by Pastor H. Steger and was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He grew up in the Germantown area and worked as a farm laborer.

He was united in marriage to Leona Ann Ahrens on April 26, 1941, at Fremont, NE. After their marriage, the couple bought a farm southwest of Paullina. Then in 1949, they moved to the Riedemann family farm one mile south and one half mile east of Germantown where he farmed until his retirement in 1977. He resided there until his death.

He was one of the original members of the Germantown Fire Department and enjoyed frying pancakes for the fire department, making sausage, gardening, fishing and being around people.

Clifford leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Leona of Paullina; four children and their spouses: Virgil and Pat Riedemann of Cherokee, IA; Carol and Dennis Lowder of Sheldon, IA; Charlotte and Warren Hartman of Annadale, MN; and Dwane and Judy Riedemann of Sutherland, IA; also nine grandchildren: Bryan and Tina Riedemann of Remsen, IA, Brenda and Conrad Langland of Farmington, MN, Bridget and Cory Brown of Paullina, IA, Brandon Lowder of Sheldon, IA, Paul Hartman of Bloomington, MN, Sarah Hartman of Richfield, MN, Grant Riedemann of Vermillion, SD, Michael and Brooke Riedemann of Sutherland, IA; two step-grandchildren: Kurt and Leisha Kuester of LeMars, IA, and Kim Kuester of Waterloo, IA; two sisters: Norma Johnson of Remsen, IA, and Lillie Nielsen of Costa Mesa, CA; three brothers: George and Lucille Riedemann of Paullina, IA, Clarence and Anna Riedemann of Milaca, MN, and Elroy and Jane Riedemann of Independence, IA; two sister-in-laws, Nellie Luhrs of Primghar and Maybelle Riedemann of Wadena, MN; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Ben and an infant sister, Evelyn.
