Tuesday, October 15, 1974, Rev. Bernard Sayler conducted memorial services for Anna Adolph at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, Iowa. Casket bearers were Heinie Peters, Ernest Wohlert, Fred Glaser, Harry Ketelsen, Emil Muhs and Wilbert Fredericks. Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley was the place of interment with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.

Anna Marie Adolph, nee Thomssen, the daughter of William Thomssens was born in Jackson County, Minnesota on March 21, 1894. She was educated in schools near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage at Jackson, Minnesota to Fred Adolph on November 14, 1927. The couple lived in Hartley since the time of their marriage. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and its Dorcas Society. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Klio Club.

She passed away at the Hartley Community Hospital on October 12, 1974 at the age of 80.

Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers, three sisters and one son, Thomas.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Fred; one daughter, Mrs. Herman (Ruby) Hofmeyer of Hartley; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Thomssen of Rapid City, S. D., and Charles Thomssen in Minnesota and one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Emma) Fuerstenau of Watertown, S. D., as well as other relatives and friends.
