Frances Parsons Perry was born at Lenox, Massachusetts, November 29, 1843 and departed this life September 29, 1927, at Sanborn, Iowa at the age of 84 years.

She was the daughter of Samuel F. Parsons and Matilda Bailey Parsons, who were the parents of four children, two daughters and two sons.

The family moved from Massachusetts to Rushford, Wisconsin where Frances Parsons was united in marriage to Martin Perry, September 19th, 1867. The young couple resided at Rushford for 15 years previous to their coming to the State of Iowa.

Their first home in Iowa was in Osceola county in 1882, near the town of Melvin in a community which was then called the "Perry Settlement" on account of so many of the family owning the land in that vicinity. This settlement occupied four square miles of that part of the country at that time. Three years later, in 1885, she came with her family to Sanborn and had made this her home for 42 consecutive years.

Two daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Perry. Ora A., who preceeded her mother in death at the age of 14 months and Lutie, now Mrs. Charlie Allen of Sanborn.

"Auntie Frank" as she was lovingly called by those who knew her best, had endeared herself to many through out the long years of association with them. She was widely known as a woman of sterling qualities, quiet and unassuming and she leaves a host of friends to mourn her departure. In 1892, she identified herself with the Kenyon R.R.C. No. 271, and for the past 33 years has been an active and energetic worker for tha organization.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Allen, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Fremon Paul of the M.E. Church officiating.

She was laid to rest beside her husband, Martin Perry, who preceded her in death January 6, 1905, in Roseland Cemetery and was born to that place by the following close friends and neighbors: Chris Miller, Chris Leemhuil, Jake Seufferlein, Chas. McDonald, Henry Kissler, Gibb Gallup. Many beautiful floral tributes spole silently of the high esteem in which the deceased was held.

Besides the one surviving daughter, she leaves only a brother to mourn her demise. Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Perry of Sheldon out of town relatives, attended the services Saturday, and a large concourse of old time friends paid their final tribute at the funeral bier of the departed.
