Anna Magee Algyer (-1935)

[sic] 1887. In 1904 Mrs. Algyer united in marriage with Mr. Magee and together they travelled life's highway until death called him in 1912.

Through the years Mrs. Magee has toiled hard, ever ready to lend a hand to those in need, and taking an active interest in the growth and develop-miemt of her home town. She was a charter member of the Womansi Relief Corps and The Rebecca Lodge and the Methodist Episcopal Church.

For several years, because of old age and infirmity, she has not been able to take an active interest In Church, and communiity affairs, but her love for her Lord never .waned.

She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her children, eight grandhildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as neighbors and. friends.

Her children rise up to call her blessed.

Music was furnished, by a mixed quartette composed of Mrs, Bert Merriam, Mrs. Dick Leemkuil, Peilcy Ver Hoef and Rev. Ernest Stanwortli who sang "In The Garden" and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought". Pall Bearers were C. A. Hakeman, V. J. Jerpbak, C. E. Heinsen, Fred Todd, Levi Leavor and Ed Moses.

Out of town relatives to attend tho funeral were her daughters, Mary A. McElwain; and and Maud F. Childs; grandchildrcn, Mrs. DeEtte M. Roban, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd A. McElwain, Walworth, Wise; and nieces, Mrs. Edith Algyer Epperson, Mr. Harry Epperson, Sioux City, Iowa., Mrs. James Holland, Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Ben Oleson, Milford, Stella Magee, Primghar, and Miss Erma Boyd, Sanborn.

She resteth now. No more her breast
Heaves with its weary breath.
Pain sits no longer on her brow
Where lies the calm of death.
Sunk to her rest like a tired Child—
She lies in slumber deep;
Safe folded in the arms of Him
Who giveth His beloved sleep."

NOTE: It is as if the first part of this obituary was cut off. But this is it as it was published as noted, and all I can give you is what I have. I'm disappointed, too.
