HENRY J. W. MOELLER

Henry J. W. Moeller, a long time local resident, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, following several months of illness.

Henry J. W. Moeller, son of Henry and Alvina Schuman Moeller, was born Feb. 2, 1882 in Scott County, Iowa, and died at Millie's Rest Home at Sutherland, Iowa, at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 27 days.

Mr. Moeller was baptized in the Methodist church. His boyhood was spent in Scott County. In 1894 he moved to Ida County with his parents, and from there they moved to O'Brien County in 1903.

He was married to Tillie M. Schelldorf on Jan. 10, 1906 at West Side, Iowa. To them were born five children: Harold and Earl, who died in infancy, Norma, Viola, and Lester. The family farmed near Moneta for 45 years, and his remaining years were spent in Hartley.

His wife preceded him in death in 1953, as did his daughter Norma (Mrs. Herman Kolln). He was also preceded by a sister, Mrs. Anna Steffen.

Surviving are his daughter Viola (Mrs. Ray Schoening), and his son Lester, both of Sutherland; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law, as well as other relatives and many friends.

His thoughtfulness and willingness to help others shall never be forgotten and today his many friends mourn the loss of a true and loyal friend.
Last rites were held on Oct. 2 at the Methodist church, Rev. D. D. Samuelson officiating. Mrs. August LaCour and Mrs. Carl Ruby sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sun­set," accompanied by Mrs. Walter Kelley at the organ. Pallbearers were Ingwer Steffen, Kenneth Steffen, Don­ald Steffen, Rudy Petersen, and Rex. O. Petersen. Interment was made in Pleasant View cemetery.
