Obituary

Mrs. Mabelle J. Beckley nee Helman, was born in Sanborn, Iowa, April 3, 1892, and died August 20, 1917, aged 25 years, 4 months and 17 days.

In the early years of her life she attended public schools of Sanborn, was graduated from the high school in the year 1909. Later she attended the Cornell College of Iowa for one year. Taught in the public schools for two years and clerked in Ellerbrook's department store for a period of two years and until which time she was united in marriage to Mr. Frank H. Beckley, of Sanborn, Iowa.

Mabelle was a young woman of excellent character, and during the past three years has been an intense sufferer. However, she bore her suffering with great patience and fortitude and from this prolonged affliction there developed a strong beautiful Christian faith and character. She was a member of the Presbyterian church for sixteen years, also a member of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors. She will be missed, but not forgotten.

She is survived by a son, Paul H. Beckley, now about two years of age, mother father, grandmother, sister, Esther Helman, of Sanborn, two brothers, William T. Helman of Deer Lodge Montana, Frederick W. Harges of Mitchell, S.Dak., and a number of other near relatives and friends.

We shall all miss her, but our loss is her gain, and may the God of all Grace bless and sustain you until you meet in the morning.

The Eastern Star and also the Royal Neighbors were in attendance at the funeral in a body. The services were conducted in the Presbyterian church and were in charge of the pastor, W.N. Fulcomer. The floral display was very beautiful and distinctly marked the high esteem in which she was held.
