Owen E. Sitler

Owen E. Sitler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sitler, long time early residents of Hartley, was born October 9, 1883 and passed away September 19, 1966 in Daly City, Calif., near San Francisco, after a short illness.

He made his home for years with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kriens and family in both San Francisco and later in Daly City. He was a country school teacher in this area for a number of years after having completed high school graduating about 1905. When he moved to California he became a salesman, a profession he continued until shortly before he passsed away.

He leaves to mourn his death his sister and her husband and their three daughters, Mrs. Glyde Ingham, Mrs. Jean Dominy and Mrs. Vivian Irving and their families, who all live in the San Francisco area.

Graveside services were conducted on Saturday, October 8, at 11 a.m. by Hobart Putname and by A.C. Hoper, who read a short eulogy and sang a solo.

Baumgarten Funeral Home had charge of the cremated remains.
